Description

I love this dress, but the lighting makes it difficult to see what's going on. It seems to be a silk satin underdress with gold scrolls embroidered along the top and a crinkled chiffon 'overdress' that wraps around her and is pinned at the shoulder.

This dress was auctioned off as part of Live Auctioneer's Profiles in History auction in 2010. The listing is HERE. They describe it as: "Elegant three-piece ensemble consisting of a simple black column underdress with gold embroidery at the top wrapped with a sheer drape of fabric pinned at the shoulder, plus a black stole to drape around the arms."
